Since the fall of 2009, Doug has served Citizens for Clean Air as President with dedication and tenacity. On behalf of the thousands of citizens who have joined C4CA to fight for clean air and the safe and sensible location of a power plant proposed for our community, we wish Doug well in his new endeavour.

Excerpt: "We are writing with respect to the decision made by Ford’s executive team in Dearborn to sell a 13.5 acre piece of land to TransCanada Energy Ltd., for the purpose of building and operating a 975 megawatt natural gas fired power plant. We believe strongly that building a gas fired power plant of this size, on such a small parcel of land, without adequate buffer zones exposes the community of Oakville, your facilities and your employees to significant health and safety risks. Our purpose in writing is to share our concerns with you and to seek your input and cooperation in working with us to resolve these issues."

Several C4CA board members will be present at the C4CA booth at Midnight Madness in downtown Oakville on Friday July 16th. Drop by between 6:00 and midnight to hear about the latest developments such as: the Air Quality Task Force report and plans on spreading awareness of our key messages throughout Ontario over the summer. These include the need for a full Individual Environmental Assessment and support for the Bill 8 on Separation Distances for Natural Gas Fired Power Plants. This is a great opportunity to discuss the latest events, meet some of the board members who have been working so diligently on your behalf, and ask your questions. Bring your friends and family!
