beardmore-explosion-20110219Around midnight on Saturday February 20, 2011, residents of the town of Beardsmore, ON, approximately 170km northeast of Thunder Bay could have been forgiven for thinking it was midday.  According to reports, the sky was lit up with flames reportedly shooting a "couple hundred feet in the air".  Once again, the question of safety has been raised after another natural gas disaster dangerously close to a residential  area.  Fortunately, nobody was injurred in this explosion that rocked the area after a pipeline ruptured approximately 2km from the nearest home.
